Hey guys, Great episode
Any chance you guys can upgrade one of these rigs to take a DSLR for shooting video? I’ve been looking for something like this but am not sure either rig would be useable for a much heavier DSLR.
I have looked at the Merlin but I can’t justify the money for something that wouldn’t get that much use.
Hope you can help
Keep up the good work.
Kenny
Sure you can. Take the video camera off and put the DSLR on the and it should all work the same. The difference will be how much weight you add and move the weights around until you get it balanced
Nice set ups. Will add this to my bookmarks.
Hate to nit pick. Using the terms as you have will not get you the parts you want.
1. Not a hot shoe. There is no power connection so that would make it a cold shoe. But is actually a quick release camera mount.
2. Not a gimbal. A gimbal looks different and is used to balance long lenses. You have a low profile ball head.
No please do nitpick. You make some valid points. Thank you for the correction. I am a dangling whohaa, or tingamabobby and thatfrigginthingthere kind of guy and occasionally get those things wrong. Feel free to correct me so that things are clear to others.
